Sgt Peter Carrie 1915-2017

The following message was sent to Moose Moxon who visited Peter on 2 occasions.  Further details about Peter's remarkable career and his 100th birthday celebrations can be found in the "Stories" section.

Dear friends,

It is with regret that I write to inform you that following a short illness, Peter Carrie passed away peacefully this afternoon.  His family had travelled down from Scotland yesterday to be with him and were privileged to be by his bedside when he died.  It is the end of an era to have had such a courageous wartime soldier and aircrew member as one of our In-Pensioners and he will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.

It is a little early regarding the funeral date and I will inform you once it is has been decided.

Thank you again for all you did for Peter during his latter years here at The Royal Hospital.  You really made everything very special for him and both he and his family deeply appreciated your kindness.

 With all good wishes

 Phil
